So a little over a month ago my laptop decided that it had had enough of my pushing it to the max every day and it decided to take a long rest. Unfortunately for me I had not backed up all of my data recently and well you know what that means. So I had to order a piece to at the very least copy my files from the laptop hard drive to my desktop, well actually to my other laptop. So after learning a little bit more about the details of laptop hard drives. Since I usually deal with desktop computers I don’t spend too much time with the new laptop components. So I found a handy little device that you connect your 2.5″ hdd from your laptop to and it magically transforms it into an external usb hard drive which windows 2000 or later will easily recognize as a mass storage device and install the drivers. You can also use the adapter to connect your laptop hard drive to your desktop computer (laptop to ide adapter) or connect sata laptop hard drives to transform them into the usb mass storage external hard drives. And now I am ready to retrieve the data from any and all laptop hard drives that have been sitting on the shelf and collecting dust, taunting me with lost files, missing pictures, and music i forgot that I liked.
